Given that this commercial sector accounts for 20% of emissions and more than 30% of the country’s energy consumption, the transition to smart and sustainable buildings is becoming a real environmental necessity with profound economic damage.

The initiative includes a free all-in-one toolkit and training that will help building and facility owners learn about sustainable building best practices. In this way, they will be able to apply tools to evaluate building parameters, identify and apply conservation measures and understand building regulations in India.

An awareness-raising project

Today, built infrastructure is responsible for 40% of global energy-related emissions, and most of the built environment in India’s cities has yet to be built.

The goal is to educate future investors in energy-efficient infrastructure to potentially reduce electricity consumption by 40-60% compared to conventional buildings. According to India Energy Outlook 2021, even a 30% improvement in the energy efficiency of buildings saves about 250 TWh of electricity by 2030.

Mahindra’s contribution

Throughout the Mahindra GroupThe company has increased energy efficiency by more than 50% in all its resorts, Mahindra Auto & Farm sector has increased energy productivity by more than 90% across all factories and Mahindra Lifespaces launched Mahindra Eden, India’s first net-zero energy residential building, which is expected to save more than 1.8 million kWh of electricity per year. Similarly, Mahindra Logistics is investing in the construction of energy-efficient warehouses.

As part of the initiative, Mahindra y
 Johnson Controls
will work closely with India’s national and state governments, industry associations, providing greater visibility on building data to assist in reporting on climate progress and formulating strategies and frameworks.

Mahindra and Johnson Controls plan to launch the initiative in March 2024 through virtual and face-to-face workshop sessions as part of a year-long roadshow.

Don’t miss any of our posts and follow us on social media!

Inspenet.com YouTube LinkedIn Facebook Instagram

Source: Johnson Controls & Mahindra Group

Photo: Shutterstock

Joshua Falcon, March 13, 2024.
The Mahindra Group, one of India’s leading industrial companies, and Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart and sustainable buildings, have announced a “Net Zero Buildings” initiative to decarbonize commercial, urban residential and public buildings in India.

[13068,13032

post-137847","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-environment","categoria_noticias-management
["GET
