This agreement is focused on decommissioning in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico region.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helix Energy Solutions and its commitment in the region<\/h2>\n\n<p>This project will initiate phases on the U.S. platform in the Gulf of Mexico, under the terms of the contract signed in mid-February 2024. The execution of these works is scheduled for the second quarter of this year, according to an official statement issued by <strong>Talos Energy Inc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>This maintains Helix Energy&#8217;s commitment to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. In 2023, the company <strong>acquired a 39-well project for decommissioning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Helix Alliance, the Louisiana-based subsidiary, employed a comprehensive planning strategy to carry out the project, <strong>utilizing the <a href=\"https:\/\/helixesg.com\/our-assets\/heavy-lift-derrick-barge\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/helixesg.com\/our-assets\/heavy-lift-derrick-barge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EPIC Hedron<\/a> heavy lift barge<\/strong>, <strong>liftboats, the Triton Explorer dive support vessel and multiple OSVs<\/strong>, to achieve efficient and safe execution.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global expansion of the company<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Helix Energy Solutions<\/strong> has recently announced that it has extended its decommissioning contract with <strong>Trident Energy<\/strong> for <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/petrobras-para-estudio-de-ccs-costa-afuera\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"131319\">offshore operations in Brazil.<\/a>\n<\/strong> operations in Brazil. In addition, the company was awarded a second deepwater well intervention contract with <strong>Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria (Esso)<\/strong> in the Erha and Usan fields offshore Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n<p>The project in Nigeria, which will start in September 2024, involves well intervention using the <strong>Q4000 vessel<\/strong>, <strong>a semi-submersible well intervention platform with DP3 technology<\/strong>.
