Thermal studies of filmic inhibitors in the control against corrosion by CO₂

Inspenet, January 9, 2023.
The oil industry faces serious corrosion problems at the production well level, due to the exploitation of deep wells with high CO2 content, which causes severe damage to the production pipes and wellheads. The inadequate use of corrosion inhibitors to mitigate this damage translates into large unprofitable investments for the oil industry, due to their use without knowing the operational parameters under which they can be used to control CO2 corrosion.

Conductive polymers (Polindol) as a technological alternative in corrosion control

Inspenet, December 5, 2022.
In this last decade, the development of a new class of organic polymers, called synthetic metals, with the remarkable ability to conduct electric current, presents a high potential for its applications both scientifically and technologically. The study of conductive polymers for corrosion prevention is one of the research fields that has aroused the most interest in recent years.

Lighter than plastic and stronger than steel

Inspenet, November 16, 2022.
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) have developed a new polymerization process, generating a 2D two-dimensional polymeric material called 2DPA-1, very light and twice as hard as steel.

New generation of ecological inhibitors in corrosion control

Author: Ph.D. Yolanda Reyes, August 10, 2022.
The use of soluble inhibitors in the corrosive medium are the commonly used alternatives due to their low costs, easy application and maintenance. Due to the toxicity of the substances traditionally used as inhibitors of the corrosive process, there is a growing interest in the development of a series of investigations aimed at exploring efficient, economical and environmentally friendly inhibitors.
