On May 25, Újpest celebrated “Old Times Children’s Day” with a technological surprise: the official presentation of its new robot dog. This four-legged assistantIn addition to capturing the attention of children and adults alike, it is intended as an educational tool to promote responsible animal care.
Technology at the service of learning and social awareness
Developed in collaboration with the Animal Rescue League, the robot dog is part of an initiative that combines empathy and technology. Designed to interact in a friendly way with children, the robot is incorporated into school activities and community events to transmit fundamental values such as respect and responsibility towards animals.
With its playful design and interactive capabilities, the robot offers children an educational experience that strengthens the link between community and animal welfare. In addition to its presence in kindergartens, it is planned to participate in urban educational campaigns.
Functionality beyond entertainment
The robot is not limited to teaching, it is also being evaluated for support tasks on rescue missionsespecially in hard-to-reach environments. Its mobility and advanced sensors allow it to detect obstacles and move with agility, making it a potential resource for emergencies.
According to local authorities, this project seeks to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and the protection of living beings, using robotics as an educational bridge.
Citizen participation in their identity
As part of the initiative, the public was invited to participate in choosing the name of the robot dog. Voting took place during the event at Szent István Square, reinforcing the sense of belonging and community around this innovative figure.
Thus, Újpest takes a step forward in the integration of technological tools for social purposes, betting on a more conscious future from childhood.
